Christian

At 13, Julie Vivienne found Christ amidst family turmoil, sparking a lifelong adventure of faith. From supernatural battles to classroom persecution, her unyielding devotion to Jesus fuels everything she does. It not only inspires her music, broadcasting, and campaigning, but it also undergirds it!

The Spark of Faith

At 13, in a home broken by divorce, Julie Vivienne’s life changed forever when a Christian salesman, Derek Baker, knocked on the door. Seeing her mother in emotional distress, he invited the family over one evening. While Julie and her sister lay transfixed by Top of the Pops on the TV, Derek and his wife Pam opened the Bible with her mother over tea and biscuits. Yet even Adam and The Ants or Shakin’ Stevens could not hold Julie’s attention when compared to the story of the God-man, Jesus.

God’s word never returns void, and it didn’t on this occasion. Julie believed and not long after she started regularly attending church.

Devouring the Word

Julie’s newfound faith exploded into a hunger for Scripture. The Gospel of Mark became her obsession—she’d even sneak into school bathrooms at lunch to read on. Her zeal earned her the Scripture Memoriser of the Year award and leadership of her school’s Christian Union. For a teenager, this was no tame faith—it was a bold, all-in pursuit of God, and it wasn’t long before the authorities noticed.

Battling Darkness

While it was a vibrant time of spiritual growth for this young, talented soul, it wasn’t without challenge and temptation. A mere year after her conversion, a supernaturally dark and chilling figure visited Julie in her room at home one night with an offer:

“If you worship me, I will give you fame and fortune.”

Julie refused, crying out to the name of Jesus, and flames of fire filled the room as the spirit left.

But the attack wasn’t over. Having failed to win by temptation, Satan then turned to tribulation.

Returning to school, her teachers mocked her as the “God squad,” encouraging the entire class to join the mockery. Her teacher regularly pushed her to read profanity-laced texts. Julie stood firm, embracing the cost of her faith with joy and the trials abated.

Jesus, Her Everything

Rejoicing to suffer for His name, Julie’s faith continued to grow and mature. At music college, in the workplace and, more recently in broadcasting and activism, Julie has found treasure and encouragement in God's word, and Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross. The Lord Jesus Christ is everything to Julie. He is her foundation, example and rear guard- Not simply her Saviour but the lover of her soul too.

Saviour Over A Bleed On The Brain

In February 2023 Julie suffered a near fatal bleed on the brain while shopping in the supermarket in Bournemouth. By the grace of God she has made a full recovery and has resolved even more than before to use her life for God’s purposes.

King of the Jews

Discovering her family has Jewish ancestry, Julie has developed a further deep passion for the Jewish people to know the Lord Jesus Christ, (or Yeshua Hamashiach in Hebrew), as their Messiah. Her love for Israel fuels her prayers and ministry, longing for God’s chosen people to encounter His transformative grace.

Christ said, “If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will bear much fruit.” This is certainly true for Julie.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
